Ontario has seven potential premiers walking around today and they’re all pretty much Torontonians, which is bad for our politics.
Within days of Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown’s shock resignation last week, all of his potential successors representing non-Toronto regions of Ontario quickly bowed out: Lisa MacLeod (eastern Ontario), Monte McNaughton (southwestern) and Vic Fedeli (northern-ish). Three candidates now say they’re in and a fourth is likely.
