Province proposes to expand personal emergency leave, end need for doctor's note

Ontario’s minister of labour was in Ottawa on Wednesday to speak about increased workers’ rights under the province’s proposed Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act.
As part of the beefed-up plan known as Bill 148, Kevin Flynn introduced a revised personal emergency leave policy that would include a minimum of 10 days off per year, with two of those days paid, for all workers, as well as a ban on the requirement for a doctor’s note.
