Power back on for most Ottawa Hydro customers after widespread outages Monday morning

Most of the thousands of people without power on Monday morning had it restored by 10:30 a.m., Ottawa Hydro reported.
Only 187 customers remained without power because of four small outages, Hydro said shortly after 10 a.m.
At 7:30 a.m., about 40,000 customers were without power.
Hydro Ottawa said the problem was with a Hydro One transmission system. Crews were at the Nepean station doing switching to restore power “as quickly and safely as possible.”
