Police take drivers to school with 187 tickets (so far) in traffic blitz

Police are using a dash of humour to school drivers during a back-to-class traffic blitz this week aimed at keeping kids safe.
Over two days, they’ve laid 187 charges including ticketing an OC Transpo driver going 50 km/h in a 30 km/h school zone beside Fisher Park Public School.
Sgt. Mark Gatien of the traffic services section tweeted Wednesday morning that he had deployed nine officers to school zones across Ottawa.
