Police searching for sexual assault suspect who posed as gas meter inspector

Ottawa police were canvassing residents in a downtown neighbourhood Sunday after a man posed as a gas meter inspector in order to gain access to a woman’s residence on Friday.
The incident, which police are investigating as a sexual assault, happened in the area near Wiggins Private and Chapel Street around 1 p.m. Now they are trying to gather more information on the man, who they said had been carrying a clipboard when he knocked on the woman’s door and identified himself as a meter
