Police collecting items for Purse Project for women in need

They’re dubbed purses with a purpose.
From Dec. 1-9, the Ottawa Police Service is collecting personal hygiene products to stuff already-donated purses for women who are homeless or living in a shelter without the means to buy the most basic essentials.
“You get your period whether you can afford to buy sanitary products or not,” said Detective Sylvia Reaney, who founded the Purse Project with Heidi Danson,  “so the purses serve as a discreet way to provide these item
