Plucked from a pipe, 'Piper' the kitten finds new home

A six-week-old kitten didn’t just make a lucky escape from sump pump pipe Thursday, thanks to a local plumbing company, but the little feline also found a “forever” home.
Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue knew who to call when the wee tabby escaped a foster home in North Gower through a window and hid in a sump pump discharge line.
The president of their board, Dave Smythe, who owns DS Plumbing with his wife, Wendy, headed to the scene, fearing the kitten might have drowned.
