Plan to prop up Ottawa's crumpled Magee House should work, expert says

A plan to use new structural steel to save Hintonburg’s partially crumpled Magee House could salvage it and other old buildings in danger of collapse, says an engineering professor from the University of Ottawa who specializes in saving buildings from catastrophe.
Murat Saatcioglu said a steel “skeleton” will take over the job of holding up the walls and roof.
