Steve Borkowski pitched eight shutout innings as the Ottawa Champions ended a six-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory against the host Quebec Capitales in Can-Am League baseball play on Saturday night.
Tyson Gillies led off the game with a solo home run and drove in Matt Helms with a single for an insurance run in the top of the ninth, and Victor Beriguete pitched a perfect inning of relief as the Champions (7-15) won for the first time since June 3 at home against the Sussex County Miners.
