Perry: Canada's own rise of hate: Let's not be smug about Charlottesville

Most Canadians watched with shock and repulsion as events unfolded in Charlottesville, Va.
But was our reaction, in some corners, a little smug?
Surely it couldn’t happen here, we seemed to say.
