Pembroke man charged after 911 calls report man beating dog

A Pembroke man has been charged with cruelty to animals after several 911 calls to OPP early Sunday morning.
Around 2 a.m. Sunday, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment responded to calls reporting that a man on Christie Street in Pembroke was physically abusing a dog.
The dog did not require veterinary treatment at the time. It has been removed from the care of the accused.
Noah Richard Neuman, 22, of Pembroke has been charged with cruelty to animals and failing to comply wth probation.
