Pedestrian trapped beneath car in Vanier crash in critical condition

A man in his 40s suffered critical chest injuries early Friday afternoon when he was struck and trapped beneath a car in Vanier, paramedics said.
Firefighters arriving at the crash shortly after noon and found the victim trapped beneath one of the car’s wheels.
They were able to lift the vehicle off the victim by about 12:27 p.m. using extrication equipment and paramedics immediately began care, the fire department said.
