Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Alta Vista

A female pedestrian has died after being struck by a train in Alta Vista, police said Thursday afternoon.
Officers were called at 2:07 p.m.
Pleasant Park Road is closed between Leslie Avenue and Cavendish Road for the investigation.
In a statement, VIA Rail confirmed one of its trains carrying 127 passengers travelling between Toronto and Ottawa was in the crash, “involving a trespasser on the Beachburg sub around 2:00 p.m. today.
