Ottawa mother heads new council to help users cope with health system
When Julie Drury’s young daughter, Kate, was diagnosed with a rare and complex form of mitochondrial disease, the Ottawa mother and her family were forced to navigate the health-care system largely on their own.
Now, 20 months after her eight-year-old daughter’s death, Drury is using her painfully gained experience to help other families and patients.
