Ottawa firefighters rescue senior citizen stuck on a Nepean roof

In a twist on the usual firefighter rooftop rescue story, Ottawa Fire Services safely assisted a senior citizen Thursday when the senior felt unsafe climbing down after completing some work on the roof of their single-story Nepean residence.
Just after 12:20 p.m. a family member called Ottawa fire for help at a home near Macfarlane Road and Deakin Street, when a senior fixing the ventilation caps on their roof felt they weren’t wearing appropriate footwear to get down.
