Orléans fire quickly extinguished; bird, dogs and bunnies safe

One human family and a lot of pets escaped safely from a late afternoon fire in eastern Orléans on Saturday.
The residents of the home at 300 Rustic Hills Cres., near Trim and Innes Roads, called 911 and everyone left the building. Firefighters said they were able to put out the second-floor fire quickly and “to assist the homeowners with the retrieval of many family pets.“
These included a bird, two dogs and two rabbits.
