OPP identify pedestrian struck and killed on Highway 401

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a passing tractor trailer on Highway 401 near Kingston early Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police reported.
OPP officers from the Frontenac detachment responded to the incident just before 4 a.m. The man, identified on Sunday as Robert B. Gale, 62, of Prince Edward County, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No reason was given for the man’s presence on the highway.
