Officer who hit and choked hospital patient docked pay, ordered to take class
An Ottawa police officer who hit a handcuffed hospital patient in the neck and then choked him for not being quiet will forfeit five days’ pay and attend a class on emotional intelligence, according to a decision handed down last week.
Const. Greg Thomson pleaded guilty in April to one count of unlawful or unnecessary exercise of authority for unjustifiably grabbing the man and choking him in January 2017.
