Obituary: 'Medical marvel' David Lafrance had six kidney transplants

Ottawa’s David Lafrance received his first donated kidney in 1969 from his father. His sixth and final organ transplant took place in April 2013 when his brother, Phil, gave him a kidney.
Lafrance died recently at the age of 58 from pancreatic cancer. He refused chemotherapy because he didn’t want anything to damage his kidney.
