Obituary: Eugène Bellemare, former MP, francophone rights advocate

Funeral services are to be held Wednesday for longtime Ottawa-area member of Parliament and Franco-Ontarian rights activist Eugène Bellemare, who died July 6. He was 86.
The Ottawa native was a graduate of the University of Ottawa and the University of Toronto, and was an arts teacher, first in Brantford, Ont., then at Nepean High School, before becoming co-ordinator of continuing education for the francophone community of Ottawa-Rockcliffe-Vanier at the former Ottawa Board of Education.
