No security gate at OPP Ottawa detachment despite officer complaints

The Ontario Provincial Police will not be forced to install a security gate at its Ottawa detachment in Kanata even after officers complained about “security breaches” and “near misses” in the parking lot.
Those incidents include a man, sweating profusely and under the influence of booze and cocaine running from a bar fight, entering the OPP parking lot with his hand in his jacket and approaching an officer. The officer eventually drew his gun, but did not fire.
