No injuries after Barrhaven electrical panel fire

Ottawa firefighters extinguished an electrical panel fire in Barrhaven after several 911 callers reported black smoke early Saturday evening.
Crews responded to 53 Newborough Cres. around 7 p.m. Though initial reports were that someone may be in the home, crews found that it was empty.
There were no reported injuries. Police, paramedics, power and gas crews were all notified and attended the scene. A fire investigator has yet to determine the cause of the fire, which caused approximately $2
