No charges for Belleville officer for using stun gun on drunk man with a knife

A Belleville police officer who used a stun gun several times to control a knife-wielding 60-year old man will not face criminal charges from Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
In a report released Friday by SIU director Tony Loparco, the officer’s actions were “completely reasonable and in all likelihood the only effective non-lethal use of force option available.”
