New heart institute expansion ready for patients

Easter Sunday was moving day for patients and staff at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
Fifteen patients from the heart institute’s intensive care unit were carefully moved down a newly built hallway connecting the original building with a new state-of-the-art critical care facility. The ICU patients were transferred from the building’s basement into light-filled single rooms that are a key part of the new building’s design.
