More transparency needed in long-term care
When Viola Lucas, 79, was found dead at the Extendicare Laurier Manor long-term care home, her head was wedged between the mattress and the railing of her bed. Whether she had suffered in this position or had died from some other cause before her body was found in its agonizing posture, isn’t known.
