Martin: Here's what NAFTA negotiators can learn from my family
Canada’s NAFTA negotiators are not looking promising. But perhaps U.S. and Canadian trade delegates could learn a few lessons from the Brooks-Martin household where we recently hammered out the latest version of the MAFTA, or Maple Avenue Family Treatment Agreement. Although there were a number of contentious issues, I, my wife Cheryl, and our daughter Sarah managed to negotiate in good faith, compromise where necessary and eventually complete an updated agreement.
