Man who fatally stabbed uOttawa student with broken beer bottle sentenced to 10 years

A man who killed a vulnerable university student just trying to escape a confrontation at an east-end bar has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.Joe-Bryan Ndikuriyo, 29, with credit for time served, is expected to spend another 6.5 years behind bars.Ndikuriyo was found guilty of manslaughter for the November 2016 fatal stabbing of Solomon Odekunle, 21.
Ndikuriyo stabbed him in the neck once with a broken beer bottle after a night out at the now-defunct Pipers Bar and Grill on St. Laurent Boule
