Man critical after found face down in highrise apartment pool

A man in his 30s was in hospital in critical condition after he was found face down in the pool of a Riverside Drive highrise apartment building Monday.
Ottawa paramedics said they got the call at 10:10 a.m. to the building near Smyth Road and found the man in cardiac arrest. With the help of firefighters, they launched aggressive attempts to save his life, including inserting a breathing tube, giving him medication to restart his heart, and applying a defibrillator.
