Man charged with attempted murder after overnight Market stabbing

A 49-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed someone several times in the ByWard Market early on Sunday morning.
Police said the stabbing took place “at a local Ottawa shelter” near George and Cumberland streets, which is where the Salvation Army Booth Centre is located. 
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
