Man arrested in connection with knifepoint robberies

Ottawa police have arrested a man suspected of committing a series of similar robberies since mid-December.
Kamalpreet Brar, 34, was arrested on Christmas Day in connection with a store robbery that day on Poulin Avenue. According to police, a man entered the store, produced a knife and demanded money. A member of the public who was entering the store as the suspect was leaving, followed the man and confronted him.
