Launching a new radio system shouldn't be 'rocket science,' Mayor Watson says
Mayor Jim Watson says he’s frustrated with the city’s problems launching a new radio system, highlighted again this week after two police unions flagged dead zones where they couldn’t communicate using the $55-million technology.
The city has been trying to implement a new Bell-provided radio system for several departments since the old system was deemed at the end of its life in 2015.
Four years later, the city’s adventure in implementing the new radio system continues.
