Las Vegas, Edmonton: Was it terrorism and does it matter?

It has been a trying couple of days on the North American continent. On Saturday, a 30-year man struck a police officer directing traffic outside a CFL game, exited his vehicle to stab the officer repeatedly, fled the scene, got into a second vehicle, fled a police stop and drove erratically down an Edmonton street before his vehicle was disabled and he was arrested, though not before injuring four pedestrians.
