Kaboom! Rideau River ice blasting this weekend
In a sure sign that spring should — fingers crossed — be right around the corner, the annual ice blasting to prevent freshet flooding gets underway Saturday.
Workers have already cut “keys” in the ice in which to place explosives, city hall reports.
