Justin St. Amour's death a suicide, coroner's inquest jury rules

Justin St. Amour’s death at the Ottawa jail in November 2016 was a suicide and not a homicide, jurors at his coroner’s inquest ruled Thursday.
The suicide finding means the jury didn’t accept the argument made by a lawyer for St. Amour’s family that jail guards could have and should have prevented the troubled, 31-year-old inmate from hanging himself with a bed sheet from an exposed pipe in his cell.
