Israeli radar expected to be declared operational by Canadian Army this summer

The first of the Medium Range Radar systems being bought by the Canadian Army are expected to be operational sometime this summer.
The radars were ordered by the previous Conservative government in 2015 in a $243 million deal. Ten systems, developed by Elta of Israel, are on order. Rheinmetall Canada is the prime contractor for the transportable system that is quickly detect and identify sources of indirect fire. Those include rockets, mortar rounds and rocket-propelled grenades.
