Iqaluit's quest for a performing arts centre

IQALUIT — Twenty-two-year-old Inuit singer-songwriter Jerry Laisa comes across as a happy-go-lucky young man with a ready smile and a zest for life. Originally from Pangnirtung, a community north of Iqaluit, he has a smartphone, of course, and loves travelling down south, whether it’s to Ottawa or somewhere warmer, though he also enjoys going out on the land with his grandfather.
