Hydro Ottawa warns about bogus text messages

Don’t be duped by a phoney text message from someone claiming to by Hydro Ottawa, the utility warns.
Hydro Ottawa says there’s a scam going around by text message claiming to be the utility flagging outstanding balances or overpayments.
It’s complete bull, according to the hydro company.
If you receive a text like that, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
Hydro Ottawa says people can also call the utility to verify the legitimacy at 613-738-6400.ALSO
