Hydro crews have to dig deep for transformer in Kanata outage
When Ottawa Hydro crews turned up to tackle an outage affecting 80 customers in Kanata North Friday afternoon, the transformer that serves them was nowhere in sight.
It was totally buried in snow, reports the utility.
“This was before they began clearing snow to access the transformer,” Hydro Ottawa tweeted with a video of a worker using a pole to find the equipment while standing atop what looks like nothing more than the oversized snowbanks ringing Ottawa streets this snowy winter.
