Heritage Ottawa hates the new Château Laurier design

The city’s volunteer advocacy group for heritage protection hates the latest design for the Château Laurier addition, but the planner overseeing the development is confident in the architectural vision.
“They’re going to put an addition on one of Canada’s foremost buildings. What they’re proposing is completely inappropriate,” Heritage Ottawa co-chair Leslie Maitland said in an interview Wednesday. “It has all the charm of a box store.”
