Going out best bets Nov. 9 to 15

The youthful French group Ensemble Variances brings its interesting instrumentation — violin, cello, clarinet, piano, saxophone and flute — to Dominion Chalmers United Church on Sunday night. Under the direction of pianist Thierry Pécou, the group will play selections by Ravel, Milhaud, Saint-Saëns, Piazzolla, Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale. The concert, presented by Chamberfest, starts at 7:30 p.m.
