Canada’s Lindi Ortega is getting rave reviews for her new concept album, Liberty, a gothic-noir tale of a woman on the lam through the American West. Musically, the twang owes a lot to the influence of spaghetti westerns but Ortega’s songwriting also contains some universal truths on heartache, revenge and redemption. She brings her smouldering voice, red cowboy boots and a band to Ottawa on Saturday for a gig at 27 Club, 27 York St. Jeremie Albino is opening the show. Ticket
