Betroffenheit is the contemporary dance-meets-theatre collaboration between choreographer Crystal Pite and playwright-actor Jonathon Young that explores the aftermath of trauma. The Kidd Pivot/Electric Company Theatre co-production is based on Young’s own tragic loss: In 2009, his daughter and two of her cousins died in a cabin fire.
