Five lawsuits now filed against Scouts Canada in Ottawa

A $4.5-million negligence suit has been launched against Scouts Canada in connection with the sexual abuse that a Brockville man allegedly suffered as a child at the hands of a notorious troop leader.
The 55-year-old man, identified only as C.A., filed a lawsuit earlier this month in which he claims he was repeatedly abused in the mid-1970s by John Allan Brown, then leader of Brockville’s 8th District Scout Troop.
It is the second abuse lawsuit filed this year in Ottawa that names Brown.
A
