First Arctic Offshore Patrol Ship scheduled to be launched Saturday

Irving Shipbuilding says it plans to launch the first Arctic Offshore Patrol Ship on Saturday, a couple of weeks earlier than expected by the Department of National Defence.
On Friday morning, the first Arctic Offshore Patrol Ship, to be called HMCS Harry DeWolf, was transferred to a submersible barge for the vessels planned launch. The 103 metre, 6,615 tonne AOPS is the largest Royal Canadian Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years, according to Irving.
