Firefighters quell blaze at Carleton coach Dave Smart's home

Right around the time Dave Smart was coaching the Carleton University men’s basketball team to the championship in Halifax Sunday night, firefighters were dousing a blaze at his Ottawa home.
A 911 call from a passerby alerted Ottawa Fire Services to smoke and flames from the second storey windows of a home on Dresden Cres. 
Ottawa Fire said the passerby’s quick 911 call allowed crews to put a speedy stop to the flames with an offensive attack and to limit damage to about $100,00
