Firefighters combat slippery slope in Fitzroy Harbour blaze
Freezing rain and ice pellets forced Ottawa Fire Services into problem-solving mode Saturday to combat a dramatic blaze in an isolated home in the city’s rural west end.
Responders were called to the residence on Old Quarry Road, in the Fitzroy Harbour area, about 40 km west of downtown at about 11 a.m.
They found the home fully engaged in flames.
