Firefighters battle blaze at Woodroffe Avenue home

Police closed Woodroffe Avenue between Slack Road and Vann Drive on Sunday afternoon because of a house fire.
Firefighters were battling a blaze at a two-storey detached home at 1757 Woodroffe Ave.
They received multiple calls around 2 p.m. Sunday about heavy black smoke coming from the house.
Ottawa Fire Services reminded the public to stay a safe distance from fires scenes.
