Firefighters battle blaze at abandoned Sarsfield home
An investigation is underway Wednesday morning after an overnight fire heavily damaged an abandoned house and chicken coop near the city’s rural eastern border.
Ottawa Fire Services was called to 3565 Larmours Rd. near Birchgrove Road by a 2:30 a.m. 911 call reporting smoke and flames.
They discovered the chicken coop and the house in flames.
The coop was gutted but firefighters worked for another couple of hours to save the house. They were clearing the scene by about 5:30 a.
