Firefighter hurt, four displaced by east-end fire

When there was silence on the other end of a 911 call Monday night, fire dispatchers mapped the cellphone call to an east-end intersection to track down a house fire that left four homeless and a firefighter injured.
Police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the 10 p.m. call to an “unknown situation” which by 10:04 a.m. was determined to be a working fire at a home on Marguerite Avenue near the intersection of McArthur Avenue and the Vanier Parkway.
