Fire marshal rules fatal blaze in south end was accidental
The provincial Office of the Fire Marshal has deemed as accidental a fatal fire in Ottawa’s south end Wednesday.
The fire claimed the life of a man in his 60s. The victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released.
Investigator Tom Hoppe said Thursday the investigation remains open pending final reports come from agencies including the Centre for Forensic Sciences. That’s expected to take about six weeks.
